DR Inspiration
It's ok to feel anxious as a parent
Your child has a late night game. Your spouse didn't fix the door after the 6th reminder. The house is dirty. You're expecting family over this weekend. You're not sure what to make for dinner...
We can certainly relate to these feelings and thoughts. And we just wanted to let you know that it's ok to experience them. It's part of this beautiful thing we call life, and family. Because the alternative is only having a few more days to live. Or not having a family. Sometimes we get so caught up in our own lives and daily routines that we sometimes forget that the "problems" we have are often blessings. To even have the problem of a late night soccer or football game is a blessing. How? Because that means you have a child you love and who loves you. It means that you're able to provide them an opportunity like that, one that many children or families don't get. It's all about perspective and how we respond to the moment. Because when anxiety and worry exist, gratitude cannot be present.โ
So the next time you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stressed, pause and take a moment to be thankful. Because for every negative or bad situation, there lies something good.
